In Tuscany, famous vineyards like Antinori, Marchesi di Frescobaldi, and Tenuta San Guido have become synonymous with excellence. Wines such as Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico, and Super Tuscans like Sassicaia and Tignanello showcase the region's mastery in crafting complex, age-worthy, and expressive wines. Piedmont is home to legendary vineyards like GajaVietti, and Marchesi di Barolo. The region's iconic wines, Barolo and Barbaresco, crafted from the Nebbiolo grape, epitomize power, elegance, and longevity. These wines boast flavors of red fruit, floral notes, earthy undertones, and firm tannins. Veneto, renowned for its sparkling Prosecco wines, is also famous for Amarone della Valpolicella. Vineyards like Allegrini and Quintarelli produce exceptional Amarone wines with concentrated flavors of dark fruit, spices, and a velvety texture. Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean, offers a different yet captivating expression of Italian wines. Vineyards like Planeta, Donnafugata, and Tasca d'Almerita craft remarkable wines from indigenous grape varieties such as Nero d'Avola and Nerello Mascalese. These wines exhibit intense fruit flavors, vibrant acidity, and a unique volcanic minerality.

These are just a few examples of the renowned vineyards and wines Italy has to offer. From the northern regions of Piedmont and Veneto to the central regions of Tuscany and Umbria, and down to the southern regions of Sicily and Puglia, Italy's wine regions are a treasure trove of exceptional wines. Experience the allure of Italian wines and immerse yourself in the rich history, diverse terroirs, and passionate winemaking that define the Italian wine scene. • Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy Langhe Virtus 2010 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (94)

The Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy 2010 Langhe Virtus is a blend of 60% Barbera and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is always a late release, and there's a big risk to that with so much bottle and vintage variation to account for. However, this 2010 expression has all its ducks in a row. The bouquet is concentrated and thick, with plenty of power and depth. The bouquet shows dark fruit, with licorice, camphor ash and ink. This is a treat for people who love the magic of old wines. Exactly 8,433 bottles were made.

  • Trediberri Langhe Nebbiolo 2021 (6x75cl)

Introducing Trediberri Langhe Nebbiolo 2021, a captivating red hailing from the celebrated vineyards of Northern Italy. This fine wine is lovingly produced by Trediberri, a small, dedicated winery nestled in the slopes of La Morra commune in Piedmont. At Trediberri, utmost care is taken to harness the supple character of the indigenous Nebbiolo grape, flourishing in the unique combination of chalky marl and sandstone soil prevalent in the Langhe region. The 2021 vintage boasts an exemplary illustration of Langhe Nebbiolo, presenting elements of rose petal, tart red berries, and subtle hints of cedar, encapsulating the elegance and finesse typical of this varietal. This wine undergoes a 3-4 week maceration period before ageing primarily in steel, preserving the purity and vibrancy of the fruit. Trediberri Langhe Nebbiolo 2021, with its fascinating balance of fragrance, acidity, and savoury depth is the perfect companion to your treasured moments.

  • Vietti Perbacco Nebbiolo 2020 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (92)

The 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco is another terrific entry-level wine from Vietti. In this vintage, the Perbacco is especially fine. Sweet dried cherry, herbs, mint, crushed flowers, anise and orange peel grace this striking, alluring Nebbiolo. There's tons of depth and sheer pedigree, things that have not always been present in recent editions. For years, Perbacco was a very serious wine - some might say almost too serious - for its peer group. Then Vietti pivoted to a simpler style. With the 2020, Perbacco seems to once again be a wine that overdelivers, big time. Quite frankly, the 2020 Perbacco is more satisfying than many Barbarescos and Barolos I tasted this year.
