Vinous (91)
(from four different ages of vines ranging from 40 to 90 years old; Boillot's Santenots comes from younger vines): Full medium red. Brooding aromas of blueberry, blackberry and menthol; lots of tiny millerandé berries here. Silky and saline on the palate; deeper than the Santenots but showing less sex appeal and early juiciness to its flavors of dark berries, spices and menthol. Vinous (90-92)
Bright, dark red. Reticent, rather wild aromas of dark cherry and underbrush. Energetic but backward; much tighter today than the village wine and more dominated by its structure. Apparently, there's no Les Celestins in 2013, which was a challenging vintage in the Southern Rhône. That said, the barrel we tasted of the 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Marie Beurrier was a bit light but elegant and silky in texture, with pomegranate-like red fruit and gentle spice.保税价格￥ 14,270.00 -

Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers felt a little reduced on the nose -- though that is common with infant Gouges. At the moment it compromises the wine's definition, which is a pity as there is attractive red cherry and redcurrant fruit waiting to surface. That will be addressed with bottle age. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, some chewiness that will dissipate with time and good depth. It feels a little chunky and uncouth towards the finish although it does improve and gain more cohesion in the glass. Time should meliorate this wine, so afford it 3-4 years in bottle. Bright red. Ripe, musky aromas of red berries, minerals and rust. Suave and creamy-sweet in the mouth, with an almost jammy ripeness but also very good framing acidity to the crunchy red berry flavors. Perhaps a bit youthfully disassociated at present, not to mention firmly tannic on the back end, yet this is easier to taste today than the Vaucrains owing to its sheer sex appeal. Wine Advocate (89-91)
The 2013 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru la Perrière, a vineyard that Hubert and Laurent have treated organically for three years, has a quite an intense bouquet with small red cherries, cranberry and raspberry preserve. The palate is very well balanced with just the right amount of acidity to cut through the succulent red fruit, although the finish does not quite possess the delineation that I was expecting at the moment.保税价格￥ 9,720.00 -

(the only one of these 2013s that had been racked and assembled by the time of my visit, as it had been very reduced): Good deep red. Pure but reticent aromas of red fruits and menthol. Silky on entry, then supple and energetic in the mid-palate, with pristine red fruit flavors supported by a stony underpinning. Finishes saline and persistent, with its 50% new oak showing today. The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Murgers has a cohesive bouquet with red currant, raspberry and just a touch of tinned peach, quite Vosne-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, the oak needing a little more time to fully integrate. The 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru les Malconsorts was the latest to finish its malolactic in mid-September. The nose has plenty of energy: red berry fruit, orange sorbet, wet limestone and fresh prune scents. The palate is primal with a dense body of red fruit. The 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru les Suchots, which comes from the domains century-old vines on more clayey soil than the Beaumonts, has a pixilated bouquet with vibrant red currant and cranberry scents, more floral than the aforementioned premier cru. The palate is medium-bodied with supple juicy tannins, a fine line of acidity and a tangy marmalade-tinged finish that coats the mouth in spicy red fruit. (Don't Miss!) The breezy nose is also overtly spicy with markedly ripe yet fresh aromas of plum liqueur, cassis and Asian-style tea nuances. There is outstanding concentration to the powerful yet polished and sleek broad-shouldered and mineral-inflected flavors that are at once muscular and refined while delivering positively terrific depth and length. Gilles Jayer's 2013 Bourgogne-Hautes Côtes de Beaune is a jewel of a wine within its category. Crushed berries, flowers and chalky notes are all nicely delineated in a lifted, precise Burgundy endowed with lovely energy and fine balance. Vibrant black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by suggestions of candied flowers, incense and licorice, and a bright mineral nuance adds lift. Sweet, fleshy and focused, offering palate-staining cherry compote, black raspberry and violet pastille flavors accented by smoky Indian spices and a hint of cracked pepper.
