The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's 1994 La Tâche Grand Cru does not transcend the limitations of this challenging vintage, offering up a rather pedestrian bouquet of red-black fruit and licorice, becoming more and more dominated by its lavish application of high-quality new oak as it sits in the glass and never revealing any of the aromatic drama of which La Tâche is capable. On the palate, the wine is chunky and foursquare, with bright acids and a certain tannic asperity that suggests this is unlikely to change in any critical respect in the foreseeable future.保税价格¥ 316,145.00 -

Sensational, very serious. Clearly a vin de garde, this burly, cellar-worthy red lacks suppleness now, but has amazing depth and great midpalate concentration. Displays lovely rose petal, violet, tar aromas followed by plum, black cherry and cassis flavors. Loads of ripe tannins leads to a sweet-tasting finish that won't quit. The best Romanée-Conti in years. Best after 2010. -PM保税价格¥ 233,735.00 -

Incredible harmony to this pedigreed red Burgundy. Closed on the nose now, it unfolds layers of elegant yet superripe fruit, wrapping around the palate, coating every taste bud with the silky flavors. Full-bodied and not powerful, it's just lovely, with an aftertaste that seems to last for minutes. Best from 2006 through 2036. -PM保税价格¥ 392,605.00 -

Truly glorious and incredibly seductive in the nose, with a complex but also subtle swirl of fruit, herbs and spice. Bold, sleek and velvety on the palate, with a distinct core that is pleasingly redolent of fresh-picked grape stems, but surrounded by ripe raspberry and cherry flavors. It evens out with hints of leather, toast, crème brûlée, rose petals, citrus and toast on the long, lingering finish.保税价格¥ 407,845.00 -

Our last Burgundy of the night was served blind. It was an explosive, ripe wine packed with an impressively dense core of fruit framed by new oak. It turned out to be the 2001 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche, a wine that is perhaps 15 years away from being ready to drink. Needless to say it was an incredible privilege to catch this wine at this relatively early stage.保税价格¥ 407,845.00 -

The 2005 La Tâche is simply magnificent. There is not too much I can add. Deep, powerful and richly textured, the 2005 simply has it all. Time in the glass releases the aromatics, but it is the wine’s pure sensuality I find most enticing. A host of dark red and blue stone fruits, hard candy and wild flowers take center stage. Even with all of its intensity, the 2005 retains striking freshness and purity. Can it get better than this?保税价格¥ 489,410.00 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (93)
Bright medium-deep red. High-pitched, pure aromas of red berries, spices and flowers; a bit less "purple" than usual for this cuvee Gentle and rich but not yet focused in the mouth, with a pronounced note of coffee torrefaction. I find this a bit vague for Richebourg today, but certainly a lovely pinot in the making.保税价格¥ 223,105.00 -

Burghound (96)
This displays a positively classic nose of soaring Asian spices, ripe plum and a gamut of ripe, pure and lacy red and black fruits with the latter predominating all wrapped together with a seductive kiss of sweetly scented, highly perfumed violets; the nose is, in a word, intoxicating. All of this aromatic intensity leads to remarkably powerful, linear and still taut flavors that show simply unbelievable complexity and stunning length. This will very likely surpass every other RSV from the Domaine in recent memory from a sheer aromatics perspective as the nose really is dazzling. For my taste this has just about arrived at the front end of its peak drinkability though it should hold easily for years to come. Consistent notes save for one bottle that seemed a bit edgy and drying and not at all like what I have described above.保税价格¥ 203,935.00 -
Burghound (97)
An incredibly perfumed and supremely elegant if exceptionally ripe nose features notes of various black fruit scents that are replete with soy, hoisin, clove and anise nuances. There is outstanding power and richness to the refined, detailed and very firmly structured flavors that culminate in a precise, pure and driving finish that goes on and on. This is a really impressive effort that offers terrific potential but fans of this wine should note that it is arguably more masculine than it usually is yet at the same time utterly seamless. In sum this is arguably the finest RSV that the Domaine has ever produced.保税价格¥ 249,870.00 -

The 2014 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru was picked on 21, 22 and 23 September cropped at 31.6 hectoliters per hectare. Now this has a distinctly earthy bouquet, one that leads you into the dark woods. Yes, there is plenty of vivacious red berry fruit, here augmented with something autumnal, brown leaves on an October morning, moss and tree bark. Then with continued aeration, these shift away and are replaced by pure floral aromas. The palate is very precise on the entry with a touch of orange rind and mandarin complementing the crushed strawberry and raspberry fruit; there is a touch of spiciness towards the finish that exerts a gentle, yet insistent grip à la Richebourg. The persistence here is very impressive and it just seems to blossom in the glass until you have utterly succumbed to its charms. 1,756 cases produced. Tasted February 2017.保税价格¥ 156,735.00 -

The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Cuvée Duvault-Blochet 1er Cru was cropped at 18.8hL/ha. It is slightly deeper in color compared to other vintages. It has a precocious and pure bouquet with redcurrant, cranberry and just a touch of peony. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, high-toned with a light spicy element emerging with time. This is one of the most outgoing Duvault-Blochets that I have encountered. There's more blueberry fruit, almost pastille-like, towards the finish. Joyous but it leaves the cerebral aspects of Pinot Noir to its fellow cuvées. 679 cases produced. Tasted at Corney & Barrow's tasting in London.保税价格¥ 174,780.00 -

The 2017 Cote Rotie was still in separate lots when I visited, yet I came away with remarkably similar impressions from the Gerine (fragrant charming and silky) and le Plomb (taut, intense and structural) as I did last year. A number of other lots will go into the final assemblage (Chavaroche, Fongeant, Lezardes and several more, probably including La Landonne). There's more cracked pepper and violets on the nose of the 2017 than the 2018 and also a touch more crispness and tension on the palate.保税价格¥ 2,980.00 -

When crops are small, Lalou Bize-Leroy assembles the three Nuits-Saint-Georges lieux-dits (Aux Allots, Aux Bas de Combe and Lavières) that she often bottles separately, and that is the case in 2015. The ensuing blend—labelled simply as Nuits-Saint-Georges—is fabulous, revealing a deep bouquet of dark fruit—cherry, cassis, wild berries—pepper and spice. On the palate, the 2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges is full-bodied, ample and complete, with velvety tannins, juicy acids and a long, intense finish. While the aromas and flavors are classic Nuits, the wine's structural elements are remarkably elegant and harmonious, even at this early stage.保税价格¥ 212,215.00 -

This is incredible on the nose, offering hot stones, blackcurrants, iodine and wet earth. Full-bodied with a tight center palate, then it opens with a tannin structure that is weightless and spreads across the palate. Totally integrated on the palate. This is a magic-carpet wine. Really incredible. One of the reference points for the vintage. Drinkable now and please try a bottle, but it’s one for the cellar.保税价格¥ 11,645.00 -

Powerful, refined and luscious, with a surplus of dark plum, kirsch and cassis flavors that are unctuous and long. Shows plenty of grip, presenting a long, full finish, filled with Asian spice and raspberry tart accents. Rich and chocolaty. One for the ages. Best from 2030 through 2060. 5,000 cases made. -KM保税价格¥ 6,215.00 -
Domaine Drouhin-Laroze has some of the best sites in the Cote d’Or. The Clos de Vougeot 2011 has an exciting intensity throughout that engulfs the palate and exudes power on the long crafted finish. Plenty of wood and warm earth gives great balance to the very fresh red fruit.保税价格¥ 4,580.00

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-97)
Medium deep purple. The nose is sombre, deep and backward. This has a huge wealth of fruit on the palate, especially at the front, very primary fruit. It does extend through very nicely but the second half of the palate is yet to fill out, as I think it will.保税价格¥ 190,735.00 -

The 2008 Clos St. Denis emerges from the glass with layers of fruit. This is an especially round, generous wine for the vintage. The Clos St. Denis has plenty of underlying structure to support the fruit and also allow for significant aging. The finish lingers on the palate for what seems like an eternity. The qualities of the vintage as seen through the lens of the year come through loud and clear in this profound Burgundy.保税价格¥ 49,460.00 -
Vinous (87-89)
Bright, deep red-ruby. Briary black raspberry, smoke and mocha on the musky nose. Dense, musky and sweet, with a hint of malic acidity giving an edge to the black raspberry, mineral and chocolate flavors. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins. This cuvee got a total of just two pigeages, as the fruit needed a gentle extraction owing to some drought stress, according to Jeremy Seysses.保税价格¥ 20,095.00 -

The 2006 Millésime Grand Cru is sourced from old vines in Ambonnay. Vinification and aging in oak shape the wine to a considerable degree, but Ambonnay has the natural breadth and shoulders to handle the oak. Brioche, spice, vanillin, dried orchard fruit and herbs all develop nicely in the glass. The 2006 is rich and resonant to the core, yet also impeccable in its overall balance. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2015.保税价格¥ 37,685.00 -

The 2013 Barolo Gavarini Chiniera is much showier than the Ginestra Casa Matè. An ample, resonant Barolo, the Gavarini Chiniera exudes richness from the get-go. Macerated cherry, kirsch, wild flowers and mint are some of the many notes that are laced together. Ripe, silky tannins add to the wine's considerable raciness. I am somewhat surprised by how well this gorgeous wine is showing today.保税价格¥ 3,330.00 -

The 2013 Barolo Ginestra Casa Maté does a great job of portraying its vineyard characteristics. This single vineyard is located at higher altitudes with thicker clay soils. This combination helps to build the wine's intensity, structure and muscle. It undergoes 45 days of submerged cap fermentation. Dark cherry and blackberry open the bouquet. These aromas are followed by spice, smoke, iron and crushed mineral. The robust nature of those aromas makes for a beautiful contrast to the fine, silky and more delicate (relatively speaking) nature of the mouthfeel.保税价格¥ 3,850.00 -

Burghound (91-94)
A ripe, expressive and airy nose that combines both upper and mid-level register fruit notes that include red pinot, black berry and violet notes trimmed in moderate wood spice as well as natural spice notes of clove and anise that can also be found on the round, rich and beautifully balanced big-bodied flavors that are powerful, long and more stylish than usual. This is a terrific Ech that should be capable of at least a decade's worth of improvement.保税价格¥ 110,860.00 -

There was one more Burgundy on our agenda, a 2003 Rouget Vosne Romanee Cros Parantoux. The Rouget had a deep, saucy, concentrated nose, again this grilled endive thing around a core of plum, cassis, soda and liqueur. It was a thick wine, and the second tasty 2003 Burg that I had had on this trip. It was really good, hedonistic and rich, long and concentrated, sweet and hearty, if anything a touch too sweet, but hey, that's 2003 (93).保税价格¥ 183,550.00
