Domaine René Muré
About Domaine René Muré
The Muré family’s foray into wine began as early as 1650 with Michel Muré establishing himself as a wine grower in Westhalten, a region located in Southern Alsace, home to 2 Grand Cru vineyards: Vorbourg and Zinnkoepflé. In 1935, Alfred Muré acquired the Clos Saint Landelin, a monopole said to be amongst the best in Alsace which, to this day, remains the crown jewel of the estate. Currently run by Véronique and Thomas Muré, the 12th generation of vignerons in the family, Domaine René Muré has been cultivating their vines biodynamically since 2009 and are Demeter-certified.

James Suckling (96)What a seductive bouquet this fragrant and graceful Alsace pinot noir has! The stunning balance of very fine tannins and delicate “sweetness“ that pervades the very long, super-silky finish remind me of Grand Cru Musigny from Burgundy. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. |
