Bright, dark red. Sexy high-toned lift to the aromas of raspberry, cocoa powder and spicecake, complicated by a minty nuance. Silky and intense on entry, then utterly primary in the middle, with urgent crushed red fruit and spice flavors that are almost too big for the mouth. The explosive finish features strong, noble tannins and outstanding rising length. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red cherry and cranberry fruit, nicely structured with a fine line of acidity. There is just the right amount of bitter lemon here that imparts tension from start to finish, leading to a composed finish with a salinity that begs another sip. Quite simply, a delicious Meursault.
