Marked acidity on the palate is the first impression and then some oak tannin still. Very, very youthful – much more introspective than I remember the 2004s at this stage. Even severe. I cannot remember an Echézeaux from the domaine blessed with so much exuberance and charm at this early stage in its evolution, leaving the mouth tingling with glee after it has departed.
