Vinous (92-94)
The 2019 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru, blended with 70% whole bunch and 50% new oak, was pretty reduced on the nose when I tasted it from barrel. So, bypassing the aromatics, the palate is medium-bodied with chunky, forthright tannins. This is much more masculine than the Charmes-Chambertin, touches of melted tar and tobacco appearing toward the finish, which feels a little conservative by comparison. Hopefully it will develop more charm by the time it is bottled.保税价格¥ 12,385.00 -
Vinous (94-96)
The 2019 Mazoyères-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru has a really classy bouquet, perhaps more traditional in style compared to Perrot-Minot’s other Grand Crus, earthier with more sous-bois scents, but just as intense. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, corpulent tannins that render this a very voluminous and mouth-filling Mazoyères. Maybe the Chapelle-Chambertin has more nervosité, though this boasts and extremely long aftertaste and a persuasive sense of grandeur.保税价格¥ 7,085.00 -
Vinous (95-97)
The 2019 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru has a little more intensity than the Charmes-Chambertin, damp undergrowth, moss, light leafy aromas tincturing the mainly red fruit and developing more and more earthiness with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Taut and fresh with perhaps the most saline finish of all Romain Taupenot’s cuvées this year, it is destined to be a wonderful Mazoyères-Chambertin for sure. Best in show chez Taupenot-Merme.保税价格¥ 10,350.00
