(Sweet spot Outstanding) Once again the nose is quite restrained while remaining wonderfully elegant and even more floral with its cool and admirably pure aromas of pomegranate, cherry, spiced tea and plenty of violet and lavender nuances. There is outstanding intensity, in fact it's presently almost painful, to the pungently mineral-driven middle weight flavors that display terrific persistence on the youthfully austere and equally chiseled finish. The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is blended with 57% whole bunch (one-third of this vineyard has just been replanted). It has a lovely bouquet of black cherries, cherry liqueur, black pepper and just a touch of balsamic. Here the wood is a bit more prominent though by no means invasive to the nicely spicy nose of mostly dark currant and poached plum nuances. This has a little more cohesion than the Morey Village at the moment on the nose of dark berry fruit, almost pastille-like. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, a granular texture and a salty, slightly brusque but fresh finish. Fine, but it will need some bottle age to smooth its edges. A second cuvée without the stems is perhaps just a little less interesting on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with a sense of strictness and linearity and potent marine influences of seaweed and oyster shells.
