Vinous (94)The 2019 Chablis Vosgros 1er Cru was showing just a small reduction on the nose, though it could not disguise the scents of yellow plum and honeysuckle and touches of wet limestone. The palate is very well balanced, taut and fresh, pinned down by a fine bead of acidity and very intense on the minerally finish. This fulfills the potential I found last year out of barrel. |

While not expressing the detail, the bouquet demonstrates the characteristic and necessary weight of fruit. The body fleshes out further on the palate. This is an excellent example and held up by a very good thread of acidity. There is a fine length of flavour too, very promising. |

It comes across surprisingly closed on the nose. Maybe just going through a dumb phase of élevage? The palate is medium-bodied and much more expressive, gorgeous yellow plum and pithy/peachy notes with a caressing finish. Once the aromatics awaken, this should be a very seductive "CC". |
