The 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Les Chevrets is showing beautifully, unfurling in the glass with aromas of cherries, rose petals, cassis and violets. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with an ample chassis of powdery tannins, fine concentration and succulent acids. From a parcel of 58-year-old vines, this is a quintessentially elegant Volnay that should also drink well young.保税价格¥ 3,545.00 -

The 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Frémiets exhibits lovely aromas of raspberries and cherries mingled with orange rind, spice and raw cocoa. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, lively and fine-boned, from more calcium-rich soils than Les Chevrets and built around bright acids and fine, chalky tannins.保税价格¥ 4,895.00 -
Vinous (92-94)
The 2018 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru comes from 45- to 65-year-old vines in a more exposed location than the Les Carelles, at 300m altitude. This year it includes 40% whole cluster. It has more complexity and precision on the nose by comparison with the Les Carelles, featuring lovely raspberry and wild strawberry fruit laced with crushed stone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. A finely tuned, precise Volnay with superb precision on the finish. This comes highly recommended.保税价格¥ 6,960.00 -
Vinous (85-87)
The 2018 Volnay Village will have around 20% new oak in the final blend. This feels a little smudged on the nose, with blurry red berry fruit. The palate is better defined, offering red cherry and strawberry on the opening and fine acidity, although it needs a little more length on the tart finish.保税价格¥ 8,000.00 -
Vinous (86-88)
The 2018 Volnay Clos de la Caves, which contains 50% whole clusters, offers raspberry and strawberry scents laced with briar on the nose, quite pastille-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, moderate acidity and pretty red fruit but missing some complexity toward the slightly confit-like finish.保税价格¥ 5,185.00 -

The 2018 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a gorgeous fragrant floral bouquet with bunches of roses complementing the vibrant red fruit. Wonderful intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with gently grippy tannins, quite spicy towards the finish with a slightly confit towards the end. This is destined to age very well. Superb.保税价格¥ 3,025.00 -
Vinous (93)
The 2018 Volnay Les Champans 1er Cru offers attractive black fruit mixed with briary, crushed rock and sea cave aromas on the nose that is all quite captivating. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, good depth and grip with a saline finish that gets the saliva flowing. Classy, old school Volnay.保税价格¥ 6,950.00 -
Vinous (89-91)
The 2018 Volnay Les Fremiets 1er Cru comes from 0.61 hectares of vine that yielded 14 barrels this year. It has a feisty, high-toned bouquet of red currant, kirsch and orange zest aromas, hints of blue fruit emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and good density, the 20% new oak nicely integrated and lending presence on the midpalate. It just requires a little more precision on the finish, though it should age nicely.保税价格¥ 3,695.00 -
Vinous (87-89)
The 2018 Volnay Village comes from 1.94 hectares of vine spread over four large parcels plus some small plots. This has an attractive bouquet of mulberry and raspberry aromas, quite refined in style and delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm, almost Pommard-like tannins. This is a masculine Volnay, broody at the moment, but it will open up nicely with time in bottle, so don’t be afraid to stick it in the cellar for four or five years.保税价格¥ 2,865.00 -
Vinous (86-88)
The 2018 Volnay Village has a strong potpourri/lavender bouquet that rather overrides the terroir expression. The palate is sweet and chewy on the entry, balanced and clean, but just missing a bit of charm and personality.保税价格¥ 4,760.00 -

The 2018 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru includes an additional 0.23-hectare adjoining parcel of old vines purchased in 2013 that represents a 50% increase in acreage. It has a more reticent bouquet compared to its siblings, demanding coaxing from the glass to revealing morello cherry, raspberry preserve and rose petal aromas. Hints of blood orange develop with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with darker berry fruit than d’Angerville’s other Volnay, and a little spicier, displaying impressive depth and grip toward the finish. It will require 5–6 years in bottle. Excellent.保税价格¥ 6,515.00 -
Vinous (93-95)
The 2018 Volnay Les Champans 1er Cru has an outgoing bouquet similar to the Taillepieds, albeit one with more intellectual weight and gravitas behind it. Black cherries, blueberry and light cassis aromas reveal crushed stone and undergrowth notes, all delivered with intensity and superb delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly firmer, stockier tannins than the Taillepieds, darker fruit and grainier texture toward the persistent finish. I see this has having real long-term potential. Excellent.保税价格¥ 6,800.00 -
Vinous (95-97)
The 2018 Volnay Clos des Ducs 1er Cru, the famous 2.15-hectare monopole of the domaine, is matured in around 25% new oak, although Guillaume d’Angerville mentioned that he intends to use less new oak in the future. It has a very intense bouquet of raspberry preserve, kirsch, blood orange and sous-bois aromas, all displaying wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fabulous density and complexity, offering brambly red fruit, blood orange, orange peel, suggestions of dark chocolate and, of course, wonderful mineral tension on the persistent finish, which fans out beautifully. This is an exceptionally fine Volnay that will age for 30–40 years.保税价格¥ 6,960.00 -

The 2018 Volnay Fremiet 1er Cru, which underwent replanting up until 1999, has an appealing bouquet of wild strawberry, raspberry preserve and crushed stone aromas, touches of rose petal emerging with aeration. The palate is framed by fine-grained tannin, quite citric on the entry and one of the most Pommard-like of d’Angerville’s Volnays. This is an energetic, edgy Volnay thanks to the limestone soil here. I suspect it will age extremely well.保税价格¥ 5,940.00 -
Vinous (90-92)
The 2018 Volnay Village comes from two parcels (Grands Champs and Pluchots, the latter recently replanted) close to the Premier Crus, and it sees no new oak. The fragrant bouquet features more black than red fruit, nicely defined with a delicate floral touch. The medium-bodied palate delivers very fine tannins. I appreciate the edginess in this Volnay Village, thanks to the citric acidity and the spiciness that develops on the finish. Lovely.保税价格¥ 6,685.00 -

Vinous (95-97)
The 2018 Volnay Clos du Château des Ducs 1er Cru was de-stalked by hand, a practice incepted with the 2016 vintage. It demands more coaxing from the glass, but reveals wonderful violet-infused red currant, cranberry and wild cherry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe tannins and great depth but gentle grip. This is your quintessential iron fist in a velvet glove. Wonderful spiciness lingers for more than 60 seconds on the finish. Stunning.保税价格¥ 24,845.00 -

The 2018 Volnay "Vendage Sélectionée" is a selection from four parcels below Echards, Pluchots, Jeotte and Grand Champs that is matured in a little new oak. It has a high-toned bouquet of blueberry and raspberry fruit, and little cassis emerges with time in the glass. The palate is sweet and succulent on the entry and very supple in the mouth, delivering black cherries and blueberry toward the finish. Very fine.保税价格¥ 4,520.00 -
