Outstanding. This is also quite floral in character with its array of honeysuckle, acacia and lavender notes that add a touch of elegance to the layered citrus, spice, pear and soft wood aromas. The rich, concentrated and opulent medium-bodied flavors are blessed with plenty of dry extract that soaks the palate while buffering the firm acid spine shaping the beautifully persistent finish. The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Tremblots Vieilles Vignes contains some fruit from the "Haut Densité" vines. It took almost a year to completely ferment. The nose offers well-defined scents of crushed limestone and apple blossom, taut and quite focused. The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet les Folatières 1er Cru has a crisp bouquet of white peach, orange pith and subtle flinty aromas that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is fresh and taut on the entry, and strict at the moment, displaying an almost Chablis-like reserve toward the finish, but you can feel the salinity lingering in the mouth long afterwards. The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a taut, crisp bouquet with scents of wet limestone, sea spray and green apple. There is fine delineation here, and more intensity than I was anticipating for a Village Cru. The palate is well balanced with subtle passion fruit and citrus notes on the entry, good weight in the mouth and fine acidity, though not as complex on the finish as other Village Crus I have tasted from Leflaive.
