Jeb Dunnuck (100)The 2018 Nuestra Senora Del Tercer Gemelo checks in as a Petite Sirah-dominated blend that includes 22.1% Mourvèdre, 11.5% Graciano, and 3.4% Viognier. It’s the finest Petite Sirah to ever pass my lips and tops out my scale. Insanely good cassis, iron, bloody blue fruits, violets, graphite, and peppery herbs all emerge on the nose, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, layered, incredibly seamless texture, no hard edges, and a brilliant finish. Hats off to Monsieur Krankl – I have no idea how he was able to make a Petite Sirah this good. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (95-97)Deep purple more than black, the nose is classier and more together than the Clos Vougeot. Actually this is brilliant as soon as the nose starts to open. Wow! This has all the classic depth of Les St-Georges but it seems to have a Vosne side heady joy as well. A huge glorious mouthful, a little white pepper tingle (45% whole bunches), but a royal quality of deep dark raspberry fruit, sensational finish. Easily the best I have ever tasted here. Jeb Dunnuck (97)The 2020 Cornas Chaillot comes from a mix of lieux-dits (it's mostly Chaillot) as well as some younger vines. It's an incredible wine in its own right and certainly doesn't give much in terms quality to its big brother. Awesome aromatics of crème de cassis, violets, crushed stone, and bouquet garni-like notes all define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, concentrated mid-palate, and ultra-fine tannins. It's a touch more finesse-driven and elegant compared to the Reynard and should round into form with just 5-7 years of bottle age. This is legit awesome Cornas that will have 20-25 years of ultimate longevity. |

It offers incredible concentration yet floats in the mouth like a weightless cloud. If there were a Cabernet Franc equivalent of Chambolle Musigny, this would be it. I love it. The finest of chalky tannins are just present on the finish, as if to remind you this is a red wine. |

Wine Advocate (96)Based on 22- to 40-year-old vines (80% French and 20% Swiss clones) and fermented with 40% whole clusters, the 2022 Malanser Pinot Noir displays a clear and bright ruby color and opens with clear, fresh and bright fruit with a coolish character. Aged in 70% new French pièces and bottled in January this year, this is a silky, dense, tart, fresh and juicy yet clear and transparent Pinot with a filigreed structure and a long, intense, saline and spicy finish. The acidity and tannins are perfectly interwoven, and the power and intensity are combined with remarkable finesse. This is another great Pinot Noir from Malans. 13.5% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in March 2024. |

The silky, polished finish makes the 2011 incredibly appealing today, but the wines from this site have always aged very well. The 2011 is going to need time to shed some of its baby fat, but it will always remain extroverted and racy to the core. I can't wait to see how the 2011 ages. |

Vinous (98)Once again, the 2015 Tignanello is stunning. Sweet, floral notes give the 2015 striking aromatic intensity to play off a core of red Sangiovese fruit. In 2015, the Sangiovese is a bit higher than the norm, which comes through in the wine's flavor profile. The tannins are also a bit biting at this stage, but that won't be an issue in time. Bright red cherry, plum, blood orange mint and sweet floral notes build into a finish laced with energy and tension. The 2015 is utterly captivating. That's all there is to it. |
