In the Agrapart Family since its foundation in 1894, this classic grower's domain extends to 62 parcels of vines across the Cote des Blancs. Everything about Agrapart oozes tradition, with the focus on minimal chemical intervention and reliance upon 'proper' technique to ensure the health and quality of the vines. The wines are bottled unfined, unfiltered and without stabilisation so as to offer the purest expression possible from some of Champagnes finest vineyards.

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (94)The NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Terroirs Grand Cru is unusual in that it is a blend of three vintages (2021, 2020 and 2019) instead of the more typical two, because of very low yields in 2021. There's real density and power here, but not at the expense of Côtes des Blancs citrus, floral and mineral character. As always, the Terroirs is a blend of parcels in Avize, Oger, Cramant and Oiry, all Grand Crus. The blend is 20% 2021 and 80% split between 2020 and 2019. Dosage is 3 grams per liter. Vinous (96)The 2013 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Vénus is a gorgeous and eccentric wine. Sweet floral and minty overtones give the Vénus its distinctive high-toned profile. The richness and depth of this Chardonnay from a parcel planted in 1959 that has always been manually farmed, comes alive with a bit of time in the glass. The Vénus is such a special Champagne, as it is elusive and constantly changing in the glass as it shows a different side of its personality with each taste. I very much admire the sense of precision here. Vénus remains one of the most distinctive wines in all of Champagne. No dosage. Disgorged: May, 2019. |
