The 2019 Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge comes from terroir composed of 60% gravel and 40% clay and is a blend of around 2/3 Cabernet Sauvignon and 1/3 Merlot with a splash of Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, it needs considerable swirling to unlock notes of blackcurrant preserves, stewed plums, and juicy blackberries, with hints of candied violets, licorice, espresso, and tapenade, plus wafts of crushed rocks and wood smoke. Full-bodied, rich, and opulent in the mouth, it has very firm, super-ripe, fine-grained tannins and bold freshness to support the voluptuous, mineral-accented fruit, finishing very long and achingly perfumed.保税价格¥ 8,155.00 -

Absolutely pure gold and reminding me of the 2009 (or is it the 2010?), the 2020 Château Smith Haut Lafitte sports a dense purple hue to go with incredible aromatics of blackberries, blueberries, scorched earth, wood smoke, and acacia flowers. One of the most concentrated, rich, and sexy wines in the vintage, this massive and extraordinarily opulent 2020 shows the vintage's pure, elegant profile yet backs it up with sensational levels of fruit and texture. Based on 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it already offers pleasure given its wealth of fruit, but it deserves 7-8 years of bottle age and will evolve for 40-50 years. Not enough can be said about the quality of these wines. Bravo to Florence and Daniel Cathiard, as well as to director Fabien Teitgen, for another incredible achievement.保税价格¥ 4,195.00 -

Lots of clove, black-licorice and cigar-box character. Already perfumed. Medium body with fine, chalky and precise tannins. Lead-pencil shavings. Well framed and structured with a fresh, lengthy and spicy finish. Extremely long and intense. 63% cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot, 3% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot. From organically grown grapes.保税价格¥ 2,775.00 -

Probably one of the most structured and stony SHLs I have ever had. Full yet very tight and compact palate with tannins that are like a tightly wound ball of silk. It goes on for a very long time. The cab berries were very small and they delivered a fantastic backbone of tannins, but at the same time intensity of vivid and reserved fruit. This is really long and classic in structure. The elevage in barrel will polish the fantastic, pure tannins. 70% cabernet sauvignon, 23% merlot, 6% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot. From biodynamically grown grapes.保税价格¥ 9,255.30 -

Intense, attention seeking notes of lemon, lime, flowers and stone open to a wine with depth, richness and concentration. The wine is long, fresh, plush and polished with plush textures and a mélange of citrus and mineral sensations. There is a purity to the sweet fruits that remain on your palate for close to 40 seconds.保税价格¥ 4,770.00 -

The white of the vintage is the 2016 Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc. It’s a magical elixir based on 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris, and 5% Sémillon that was brought up in 50% new oak. Deep, layered, and powerful, yet also vibrant, it has sensational notes of crushed citrus, liquid rock, white flower, lime pith, and honeyed grapefruit. It shows the classic, balanced style of the vintage yet offers thrilling depth and concentration and is a tour de force in white Bordeaux. Drink it any time over the coming two decades. Get it if you can!保税价格¥ 12,015.00 -

Lastly, and pure perfection in white wine, the 2020 Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is based on 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris and 5% Semillon that was aged in 50% new oak. This massively rich, concentrated, powerful white offers a heavenly nose of honeyed flowers, orange marmalade, lemon grass, and toasted bread, with a building sense of salinity and minerality that shows on the finish. Drink this stunningly rich, layered, concentrated 2020 over the coming two decades.保税价格¥ 4,885.00 -

This has so much blossom honey and white flowers with limes and other citrus. Stone and mineral undertones. Subtle passion fruit. A truly complex and great nose. Full-bodied and compact with fruit, phenolics and fresh acidity. Just a touch of sea salt. Very long and persistent. If you close your eyes, it’s like a great red wine. One of the best whites ever to come from here. 90% sauvignon blanc, 5% semillon, 5% sauvignon gris. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.保税价格¥ 5,230.00 -

Distinctive as ever, right at the top of what Pessac Léognan Blanc can deliver. Structured, fleshy white peach and pear, waves of salted cracker and sage, creamy texture, great length, just a brilliant wine. A buy.保税价格¥ 9,255.30 -

Inky dark fruit, gravel, smoke, spice, grilled herbs, lavender and menthol all flesh out in this rich, supple Merlot-driven blend from Smith Haut Lafitte. The 2017 is a flat-out delicious wine. Inky dark cherry, plum, chocolate, spice and savory overtones from the Cabernet all infuse the 2017 with notable character. The 2017 finishes with a good bit of structure, which ensures it will drink well for a number of years.保税价格¥ 1,370.00 -

The 2018 Les Hauts de Smith is a powerhouse. I recall a much more open-knit wine from en primeur, but the bottled 2018 packs a serious punch. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, cloves, gravel and licorice give the 2018 a distinctly brooding feel. Les Hauts is conceived as a restaurant wine, but the 2018 is far from an easygoing example. There is plenty of depth, power and structure. A burst of dark red fruit laced with floral overtones punctuates the finish.保税价格¥ 1,640.00 -

The 2020 Les Hauts de Smith, 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, is plump, juicy and quite forward. Succulent red cherry, cedar, cinnamon and dried flowers are front and center. Bright acids play off the ripe, racy fruit very nicely. Plush tannins wrap it all together in style.保税价格¥ 1,460.00 -

Tight and chewy yet polished and beautiful. Medium to full body, a pretty core of fruit within the center palate and a flavorful finish. Better than 2015 and on the same level as the excellent 2014.保税价格¥ 1,735.00 -

I love this château, and the 2019 Château Soutard-Cadet is another brilliant wine that's in the same ballpark as the 2018. Sporting a deep purple hue as well as a rich, powerful nose of ripe black fruits, scorched earth, spicy oak, graphite, and damp earth, it's rich and concentrated, yet the purity is brilliant, it has silky and perfectly ripe tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish. As I wrote from barrel, it's going to benefit from just 2-4 years of bottle age and, I suspect, have 20, 25, if not 30 years of overall longevity.保税价格¥ 1,285.00 -
Distinguished by its elegance, the Stephane Magnien Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru 2017 exemplifies the quintessence of Burgundian winemaking. Crafted in the esteemed Clos Saint-Denis vineyard, a classified Grand Cru in Burgundy's Morey-Saint-Denis region, this laudable libation is the handiwork of Stephane Magnien - fourth-generation vigneron in this family-run winery.
Harvested by hand, the grapes following traditional vinification are matured in oak barrels, yielding a splendidly nuanced Pinot Noir. With pronounced aromas of wild berries punctuated by earthy undertones, its complexity on the palate is equally striking. Bursting with ripe red fruit and layered with notes of spice, its graceful tannins lead to an enduring finish.
The Stephane Magnien Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru 2017 is a prime example of Stephane Magnien’s commitment and respect for the terroir, expressing the sublime characteristics of this esteemed vineyard. A stellar selection for discerning connoisseurs!

Scoring 98 points from the Wine Advocate's Lisa Perrotti-Brown, 97 points from Decanter's Jane Anson and 18.5/20 from Jancis Robinson MW, this 2009 "remains the benchmark Suduiraut of recent years".
Still taking a while to open up fully, indicting a very long life ahead, it has a "divine bouquet... building layer upon layer" (NM) that "seductively unfurls" (WA) with gorgeous notes of honey, dried pineapple, chamomile tea, yellow flowers and nectarine. The rich, viscous and satiny texture of the palate is "effortlessly" countered by a "beautiful razor-sharp line of acidity" (NM) that gives this Sauternes bags of freshness. With "epic length and depth" (WA) on the finish, this is a wine that will span generations with Neal Martin giving it a drinking window up to 2070.

The 2014 Suduiraut was picked from 12 September to 30 October. It is very similar to the bottle tasted blind at the Southwold tasting, offering a gorgeous array of almond, quince and wild honey, perhaps just less of the orange blossom here but still utterly captivating. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, as animated as the 2015 with great precision and tension towards the finish. Perhaps this is a little sharper than the 2015 at the moment without the same roundness or depth, but it is just as good. 150gm/L residual sugar, 13.8% alcohol. Tasted at the Suduiraut vertical at the château.保税价格¥ 2,129.00 -

What a crazy Sauternes. The density and sweetness are amazing, yet at the same time it’s fresh and bright with an inspirational energy and dryness at the end. Phenolic and textured.保税价格¥ 2,350.00 -

The 2019 Suduiraut is absolutely stunning. Rich, heady and explosive, but in the vibrant style that marks the wines of today, Suduiraut is a real head-turner. An exotic melange of apricot jam, orange confit, spice, candied ginger and pineapple all soar out of the glass. The 2019 is creamy and intense, but not at all heavy. The 130 grams of residual sugar are perfectly integrated. Magnificent.保税价格¥ 2,060.00 -

The 2023 Suduiraut is a model of modern Sauternes. Orange peel, burnt sugar, crème-brûlée, tangerine peel, and wild flowers inform a Sauternes of total finesse and silkiness. Yields were a measly 12 hectoliters per hectare. The 150 grams of residual sugar are not especially evident. Everything about the 2023 is perfectly judged. It can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring or cellared for decades. The 2023 is a timeless wine that is among the most notable successes of the year.保税价格¥ 2,495.00 -

Harvested at desired phenolic maturity without elevated sugar levels—a scenario increasingly rare in contemporary Champagne—the 2014 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Cramant Les Robarts ranks among the greatest successes of this consistently reliable cuvée. It unfurls from the glass with aromas of pear, peach and lemon oil, complemented by dried white flowers mingled with pastry notes. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and seamless, it is elegantly muscular and mouthwatering, concluding with a long, penetrating finish. Disgorged in January 2021 with a dosage of two grams per liter, extended time on cork has worked wonders.保税价格¥ 1,815.00 -

The 2023 Bourgogne Aligoté was bottled in April. It has a clean and sharp bouquet—a little more malic, perhaps from the fruit located up in the Hautes-Côtes. The palate is well balanced, a little oily in texture, with fine acidity and a lighter, sour lemon- and ginger-tinged finish. Enjoy this over the next four or five years.保税价格¥ 1,070.00 -
