Adelaide Hills is a diverse wine region. Although part of it boarders the McLaren Vale it is much cooler with wine in a very different style. It produces plenty of fresh precise examples of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Pinot Noir is the most popular red grape. The region's diversity allows many grapes such as Shirz, Tempranillo and Nebbiolo to thrive. There are also some succesful sparkling wines.
